cool doc'

I have such a cool doctor. Sometimes I think she is not a doctor at all, from the way she talks. Of course, her signature and script give her away a little bit... I went to her today for a follow-up on the meds I am taking. It seems they are working as they should-my pain level is lower than when I first went in almost 2 months ago. She said that her goal is for me to be comfortable with being in my body...that I should want to be in it, even if there is still a little bit of pain. What a holistic thing to say! When she brought a refill prescription back into the room, she told me that I should take some credit for getting better. While the pain meds are helping, she said that some people would have given up, and I deserve credit for perservering and getting myself to a place with less pain. What a cool thing to say to a patient! I mean really!

And then as I walked from my appointment to work I saw that the mountain was out. (For non-seattleites, that means that Mt. Rainier is visible) Even though it isn't an especially clear day, there was a break in the clouds and I could see Mt. Rainier from campus. That makes it an even better day.
