I hope I'm not saying too much...but David and I are really thinking about selling our condo and buying a house. We are doing a lot of driving around neighborhoods and seeing the outsides of current listings. Two nights this week we've spent most of the evening looking at houses.
We are seriously torn in this market. We don't want to settle for less than 3 bedrooms, but we also don't want to go too far out. And then there is the price issue. A whole other ball of wax. At first we were thinking we'd find a house, but use it as a stepping stone (so it didn't have to be "perfect"), and buy a better one in 5 years or so. But now we are thinking that we'd like to find a house that we can stay in for many years. And that means 3 bedrooms and at least 1.5 baths.
It is so hard. We are also considering selling our condo FSBO. That is another place where I need to do some serious reading to get up to snuff on how to do such a thing. We really need every penny of equity we can get out of our condo to buy a reasonable place. But, If we can't sell right away, we may have to consider an agent.
Just a bunch of stuff we are thinking of. It feels exciting, but it also feels scary. I promised myself I wouldn't jump into something like we did with the condo (although that turned out well in the end).
