I had the best intentions yesterday morning to post before things got crazy at work. Well, they got crazy about 15 minutes after I walked in so I wasn't able to post when I wanted. Now it is the next day and I'm trying again.
I don't want to be a complainer, but I'm sure you've noticed my sparse postings lately. They are the result of work taking over my life. And it has been like this for about a month, and it looks like it will be this way for the foreseeable future. After my trip mid-may, I will have been on 3 work trips in 30 days. And I've got so many meetings, that I hardly have time to do the work we talk about in the meetings. ALSO, I've had a low-grade headache for the past 24 hours, and I'm pretty sure it is related to stress. (maybe now is a good time to use my massage gift certificate ;-) Amazing how stress manifests itself physically...I've also got little lightning bolt blood vessels in my eyes that have become very visible (they look more than just bloodshot), and my dry skin on my hands has gotten much worse.
On a lighter note, I wanted to say that my meeting in D.C. for the NanoPolicy conference went well. I met some good people, and felt like I got a good lay of the land in terms of nano-policy issues. ALSO, I was not the youngest person there, although I didn't card anyone to make sure. But there were a lot more young looking people than I would have thought, and an equal distribution of gender.
I also went for my first jog/run in months. I had dinner in dupont circle one night, but I wanted to go see Adams Morgan, since that is where Jen will be living. So, I set out from my hotel with a map of d.c. memorized in my head (the map became a little fuzzy after the first wrong turn), and jogged up Massachusetts avenue to new Hampshire Ave to 18th Ave, through adams morgan and then down the street that turns into Connecticut and straight into dupont circle. Once I got to the busy area of Dupont circle, I started walking. The sidewalks were busy (it was about 6pm), and I didn't want to upset anyone by running past them. It felt great to run, although I was sore in odd places the next day (like my upper back).

I love Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. I saw Moby eating at a restaurant in Dupont Circle the last time I was there. Of course I reacted in a manner that implied I had NO idea who he was. "Oh, excuse me" as I brushed past his table. (I'm an idiot).
By the way, thanks for sponsoring me for the CF walk! I really appreciate it.
