Do you know that feeling of biting into a apple/nectarine/plum/pear and it isn't good? Well, I had that experience times two. I know writing about bad fruit isn't that exciting, but it made an impression on me because I felt like I was fruit-cursed.
Just about everyday I have have an apple with my lunch. Today I brought an apple as usual. I ate my half-sandwich and then proceeded to take a bite into my apple. It was really brown inside and tasted bad. So, I threw it out. My boss had commented that I didn't have that much food, so she gave me an extra peach she had. It felt a little soft, but I thought it might be okay. I cut it in half. The pit had green mold growing in it. Pretty gross. And the outside 1/8th of the peach was really dark and looked quite bruised.
So much for fruit with my lunch. I had to make do with my half-sandwich and a few slices of someone else's peach. But it is just about my snack time, so I'm going to try a banana. Wish me luck!

In my experience, Oreos are rarely brown or moldy inside. I would try a few of those with your lunch.
