Okay, I don't consider myself a super competitive person (others may disagree), but I am feeling pretty incompetent with this web sudoku. I was just playing a couple of games during my lunch break, and on the www.websudoku.com site you can check to see how your time compares to others who have solved it.
I can do the easy ones with no problem, but they take me between 13 and 15 minutes. My fastest time is 13:09 so far. When you finish a sudoku it takes you to a screen and you can click on a button that says "how good is my time?". I was feeling okay about my time b/c, hey- at least I finished the puzzle, and I look up my time compared to others and 90% of people scored faster than me on that particular puzzle. Some people have times of under 3 minutes for an easy sudoku!!!!! How do you even do something like that in under 3 minutes? I have no idea. I'm sure that with practice I'll get faster, but I'm pretty sure I'll never get a sub 3 minute time. The median time for that puzzle was about 7 minutes. I feel slow!
Anyone else want to share their time on an easy web sudoku? Am I doing them wrong and that is what is causing my time to be so long? arghh..well, maybe I am a little bit competitive--even with people I don't even know and who don't mean anything to me.

I did my first puzzle on-line today and got a time of 13:12. I thought it was a lot harder not having a pencil to make notes. I imagine that to get a sub 3-min time you'd have to get to the point where you start recognizing patterns (but I'm definitely not there yet). Thanks for postin the link.
