We arrived back in seattle and to our home last night around 2:00 am. David and I are both working today. I just hope we can make it to the end of the work day. I can already tell it is going to be a long one.
We had a great time on our trips to Kansas and Oklahoma.
Emily, Melissa and Jodi were there from the Lammert side of the family, and Nathan, Brittany and Stephanie were there from the Allen side of the family. We had a great time hanging out, walking Cho, Cedric, and Casper, and cuddling with Prince (who reminded me a little of Jazzy). Many enjoyed spirited games of Mexican Train Dominoes, and the home-made Kahlua and Mulled Wine.
I think David and I got everyone addicted to Sudoku, a sort of number based crossword puzzle that operates entirely on logic. It is quite fun! For those interested in trying some online puzzles, I like http://www.websudoku.com . www.sudoku.com has some good instructions and hints for how to play sudoku. I dare you not to get addicted!
We had a great christmas dinner with ham, turkey, all the fixin's, apple pie, oreo pie, wonderful wine and engaging company. It was fun hearing about everyone's engagement stories at the dinner table. Will Dietz was able to join us from Lawrence, which was nice.
On monday we drove to Oklahoma in Suzanne's car. They were so nice to let us borrow it. It got great gas mileage! Took about 4 hours to drive to Bartlesville. On monday night we had a great dinner with Will, Sandy, Matt, and Amy. We watched a funny movie after dinner called "Army of Darkness". I think it is one of these "cult" classics--I'm happy to say I can now say I've seen it. However, I'm not sure that I would watch another one. Tuesday we toured the only Frank Lloyd Wright designed "Skyscraper", the Price Tower. It was a neat tour, and we got to see the top three floors of the building, many of which still had the original furniture designed by Wright. We also got to see Zaha Hadid's plans for an addition to the Tower. It looked very cool!
It was a very good christmas, although I am definitely looking forward to some down-time this weekend. David and I have both been feeling like we might be getting sick, so we need to get some extra rest to ward off a cold/flu.

But Liz, you have to watch Evil Dead 1 and 2. How will you ever know how his hand gets cut off, or how he ends up in the past, or what happens to his first girlfriend at the shack in the woods?
Well if you don't see the first two, I can still rest assured that you will know what I mean if I say "Shop smart, shop S-Mart". :)
Absolutely! Shop smart, shop S-mart!
See, I was lucky enough to get a quick review on the hand and girlfriend thing from David and Matt, so I feel pretty comfortable with not seeing the first two. But I understand that for fans of the series, what I am saying is probably considered blasphemy.
thanks for the apple pie recipe!
