just two

I think I mentioned awhile ago a project that David and I were working on. We decided that after living in our condo for 2 years, that it was time to put some art up on the walls. We had only hung a few photos in one cluster in the living room. The rest of the walls were devoid of art.

David found some good pictures we had taken on various trips, but mostly pictures from Italy, and we had them printed at a print shop in Ballard. To save money, we wanted to mat and frame them ourselves. We called around to get estimates to have someone else do it all, but not only were they tremendously expensive, but we like to do things ourselves that are do-able. So, we went out and bought a quality mat cutter, some nice museum board, and some frames.

Here are the two groupings we have done so far.

Watch out for the glare above!

We will be matting some batiks that David got from his dad, but we haven't figured out what color the frames should be for those. So those are on hold. But David has gotten quite good at using the mat cutter.

See--I promised I'd post some pictures...now I just need to get the other ones scanned.
