It seems like we are having a bit of a cold snap. It feels more like fall right now than August. I'm actually hoping it gets a little warmer this weekend. I've barely gotten to wear any of my cute tanktops this summer! But I certainly slept well last night--the windows were open, and it was a great temperature to sleep under the covers.
I'm not really sure what this weekend holds for us. I know Em and Mel are moving this weekend, so I wish them lots of strength and patience! Maybe we will go up to some nurseries and look at trees/plants for the yard. David mowed the grass last night, and it looks alot better now. I've seen a few places I'd like to weed in the back yard to make it look less cluttered. We've got some work to do on the yard, that is for sure.
We've got some big divots throughout the yard, and it is so pervasive and they are deep enough that maggie or I could sprain an ankle or something. So...the question is...do we just buy a bunch of dirt to rake into and fill in the holes and then seed them, or do we till (spelling?) up the whole yard and re-seed the whole yard. David and I are on different sides of the fence on this one, so I'm looking for some guidance from outside. I'm not sure that this time of year is even good for doing such a thing...I'll have to do some research, talk to some landscape people. I guess my thoughts are that we have to take into account the time, energy, complexity and cost of each project before we make a decision.

remember dad used to store dirt in the 5 gallon containers in the garage? every spring i recall him using that dirt in the holes in the yard, filling them, and seeding them so that we wouldn't sprain an ankle when we ran around. that could be a good approach for you guys... especially with winter nearing. i wish i could be there to help you with the yard work. thanks for sending us some strength for moving this weekend. we are currently nursing our hangovers from a fun party last night...so we will need it! love ya.
