Here are two pictures of the excavation we did in the back yard friday night and earlier this week. Okay, okay, mostly david did this-but I did help by using a piece of fence wood as a lever to help him pull the concrete pillar out of the ground. I also put all the dirt from the holes he dug back into the hole. Someone was concrete happy with this house at some point. So, we are breaking it up so that we can actually use the ground for plants, instead of concrete.

Here is a picture of a hydrangea bush in our front yard. I wasn't sure it was ever really visible in the other pictures we've posted. It is looking a little sad and dry right now, but I'm going to work on that.

Also, a quick picture I took Sat. morning of what our living room looks like. Pretty much the same layout as in the condo, but it feels different. Maybe because of the big hearth and mantle. When David and I were watching a movie last weekend we were amazed by how quiet it was. When we used to watch movies at the condo, we had to close all the doors/turn off the fan,and then crank the TV volume up to 40. Now, we can watch a movie and hear plenty well at 25. So nice.

We also met one of our neighbors to the north. I'll call her E. She brought us a bag of apples from the tree in her yard. From our porch you can see her tree, and I couldn't tell what they were because the color on them was so pretty, it almost looked like they were peaches because they had a fuzzy look to them. But they are apples, and she brought us some and said they are good in apple pie, and for applesauce. Here is a picture of a few of them.
