two sided apron

Now that I've given the two-sided cafe apron I made to my friend JoAnne (who is leaving Seattle for California), I can share it with you all!

I used a pattern for the apron pocket (yes, that cute little mitt is a pocket!) from Lotta Jansdotter's book.

And then I decided that I wanted to incorporate some piecing since JoAnne taught me to quilt, so I put together some improv piecing in black and white.
The other reason I made this apron for JoAnne is that she is known for her good cooking at her parties, and I thought this would make a perfect party apron for her.  And if you spill some sauce or something else on one side, you can just flip it around and wa-la... a "clean" apron!
