did you hear? .....soy makes you gay

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a long time. Apparently there is a guy out there who is saying that soy is what is causing more and more people to be gay. See his whole column here . I don't even know what else to say--in some ways I find this ridiculously funny--how could someone be so stupid. He actually says that soybeans are feminizing! If that is his argument, then how do you account for the lesbians? Is he saying that soybeans only affect men and their propensity to be gay? I think he is missing a link /or has a synapse somewhere that just stopped firing.

This quote "It is difficult to imagine just what WorldNetDaily’s standard is for rejecting a column or article – but whatever it is, it is apparently set so low that “soy makes you gay” manages to exceed the criteria" is so true. Who would ever think to publish something like this!

Well, gay people that wish they were straight will no doubt be suing the soy industry any day now.

I found this on another website and thougt it was an interesting debunking of the article.

In 1984 Heino Meyer-Bahlburg, a neurobiologist at Columbia University, analyzed the results of twenty-seven studies undertaken to test the theory. According to Meyer-Bahlburg, a score of the studies in fact showed no difference between the testosterone or estrogen levels of homosexual and heterosexual men. Three studies did show that homosexuals had significantly lower levels of testosterone, but Meyer-Bahlburg believed that two of them were methodologically unsound and that the third was tainted by psychotropic drug use on the part of its subjects. Two studies actually reported higher levels of testosterone in homosexual men than in heterosexual men, and one unhelpfully showed the levels to be higher in bisexuals than in either heterosexuals or homosexuals.

Jeremiah--thanks for sharing that--I love it when meta analysis yields conclusive results. It is such a ridiculous theory!
